Follow along with the rest of the discussion,
taking a minute to ensure your current file
"teases" your visitor into a click-through.

Think of your sig file as a "virtual" business card,
appended to the end of every e-mail that you send.
Use it to PREsell Site Build It! and/or The Affiliate or
Service Sellers Masters Courses (see SITESELL PROMOTION
CENTER below).

Of course, most of your contacts see (or should I say
"ignore") many "sig files" throughout the day. Just like
banner ads, many people don't even look down there anymore.
So create a PRE-sig message!
Copy-and-paste this somewhere in the body of your e-mail...
o either at the very top
o in the main body (working it into the content)
o in the "P.S." -- everyone reads a "P.S."
What does the PRE-sig message say?
Simple!
"Read my sig file."
OK, don't be so blunt. But do call attention to your sig
file in a way that's natural and that fits. Generally, the
"P.S." is the quick and easy way to get this done...
"P.S. Don't miss my sig file below -- the course really is
amazing. I doubled by own client base in 3 months!"
Get the idea? Wouldn't you check out the sig file if you
read that P.S.?

OK, so now that they'll read it, here are the two most
important tips for creating a good sig file...

TOP TIP #1 -- Integrate a "teaser" into your sig file.

If you can intrigue your contact, so much the better! If
you can make her sit up and say "what the...???", you're
really onto something! Remember your contact's mindset...

TOP TIP #2 -- Put some personality (i.e., put some of you)
into your sig file.

Granted, these may be a little off-the-wall compared to what
you are accustomed to seeing, but that's precisely the
point. Intrigue your contact... tease your contact.
Whatever you do, *work* for the click!

TOP TIP #3 -- Rotate your tires... and your Sigs.
--------------------------------------------------
Just like tires, signs get a little worn. They stop
working. And some never work very well at all (for which I
include a special SBI! tip at the very end of this article).
So rotate your sigs. Keep using a sig as long as it pulls.
Rotate when it gets "old and tired."

OK, the clock's ticking so I'd better get going. Here's how
to set up your sig file...
o In Outlook Express...
1) Select...
Tools > Options > Signatures
2) Select the "New" tab.
3) In the text box, enter your carefully crafted sig file,
or if you wish, simply copy-and-paste one of the above into
the text box.
4) Click "Set as Default."
5) Click "Apply."
That's it... you're done!

o In Netscape Communicator...
1) Select...
Edit > Preferences
2) Double click the "Mail & Newsgroups" category to expand
the list of options.
3) Select "Identity" and fill in the field titled "Signature
File."

Depending on your version of Communicator,
you may have to create your signature with
NotePad, save it to your DeskTop, and choose
that file as the one to be displayed below
each e-mail.

4) Click "OK".

That's it. You're done -- with a couple of minutes to spare
even! Now you have a powerful PREseller working for
24/7, 365 days a year.
Easy, right?
Only one thing left to do...
Start e-mailing your friends, colleagues, and co-workers! :-)

If you use Site Build It!, use a Tracker
Link. That way, you'll know which sig files
are pulling best. Top Tip #3 was to rotate
your sigs. When you use a Tracker Link with
SBI!, you'll not only know when a sig is
getting tired (because you automatically
track the # of clicks it gets), you'll know
if a new sig is a total dog (because it won't
get any clicks). Replace that mutt with a
thoroughbred that performs. :-)
Seriously, if you're struggling now, and not
using SBI!, I can't recommend it enough for
so many reasons....
1) You'll succeed
2) You'll succeed in so much less time
3) You'll really *know* your product and write
so much more convincingly about it.
